Fried Plantain


Fried Plantain is prepared from ripe bananas deep-fried in cooking oil. Most Kenyans take fried plantain as a snack or starch in their main meal.


  • 2 Ripe Bananas
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

Preparation Procedure

  1. Peel the bananas
  2. Cut it at an angle for them to look longer and put them in a bowl
  3. Place the cooking oil in a frying pan
  4. When the oil is hot, place the plantains one by one and cook them until they are golden brown then flip for them to cook on the other side
  5. Transfer them to a bowl, add paprika and cinnamon then shake them to distribute evenly
  6. It is ready to be taken as a snack or as an accompaniment
