Viazi Karai Recipe
Description
Viazi Karai is a potato dish prepared using a few ingredients. All that is required is to coat the raw potatoes in paste and then deep-fry them. You can eat them with your favourite drink or just alone as a snack.
Ingredients
- 4 Potatoes
- Coriander
- 1 clove Garlic
- Salt to taste
- Cooking oil
- 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
- Water
- Egg Yellow food color
Preparation Procedure
- Peel potatoes then wash them
- Cut them into halves
- Boil the potatoes with water and salt in a cooking pot. Don't overcook them
- In a bowl put flour and egg yellow food color
- Add salt, mashed garlic and coriander
- Add water and stir to make a paste (should not be too thick and not too light)
- Mix boiled potatoes with the paste
- In medium heat place a frying pan and pour enough oil
- Deep the potatoes in the frying pan one by one
- Keep turning them until the coating is dry
- Using a frying spoon transfer them to a plate with a paper towel to drain excess oil
- Viazi Karai is ready to be taken with Kachumbari
