Cabbage Curry Recipe


Cabbage curry is simple fried cabbage with additional spices. It is delicious and mostly used as a side dish in Kenya. It is a good source of fiber.


  • 1 small cabbage
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • Coriander
  • 1 teaspoon tomato paste
  • 3 tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt
  • Garam masala (optional)
  • Water (optional)

Preparation Procedure

  1. Cut the cabbage into thin shreds and set aside
  2. In medium heat, pour oil into a frying pan add chopped onions stir, and let them cook until they are slightly translucent.
  3. Add mashed garlic and mix
  4. Add sliced tomatoes and let them cook until they are well mashed then add tomato paste and mix
  5. Add garam masala and some little water and let it cook until the cabbage is translucent but slightly crunchy. Add more water if you want to cook it more
  6. Sprinkle coriander
  7. It is ready to serve while hot
