Eggs in the Pocket


Eggs in the Pocket or Toast Egg-in-a-hole is a tasty breakfast treat where eggs are fried in a hole made in bread slices. You can enjoy it with a hot cup of tea or coffee.


  • Bread
  • Eggs
  • Cooking oil
  • Salt

Preparation Procedure

  1. Using a circular object cut the middle of the slices of bread to make a hole
  2. In low heat place the slices of bread in a frying pan. You can place two or three slices of bread depending on the size of your frying pan. Place them separately. If the slices of bread are not thick enough use 2 slices of bread to make a nice hole.
  3. Crack an egg into each hole it is ok if a little flows under the slices
  4. In low heat allow them to cook well until the egg is firm and the slices of bread are brown
  5. Flip them and allow the other side to cook
  6. They are ready for breakfast
