Samosas Recipe
Description
Samosas are one of the most popular street foods in Kenya. They make a perfect breakfast when combined with tea. Homemade Samosas are made by shaping dough into triangles and stuffing them with minced meat, all spiced up for extra flavor.
Ingredients
- Minced meat
- Onions
- Coriander
- Garlic
- Ginger
- Salt
- Flour
- Water
- Cooking oil
Preparation Procedure
- In a frying pan pour cooking oil
- Add chopped onions and let them cook until they are slightly translucent
- Add ginger and garlic paste then mix (add more spices you prefer)
- Add minced meat and coriander then mix well
- Let it cook for 5 minutes then set it aside
- To make pockets mix flour, salt, and water in a bowl
- Knead and form a soft but not sticky dough
- Cover for 30 minutes
- Cut the dough into 6 or more pieces depending on the amount of dough prepared
- Roll each piece into thin medium size circles
- Dry them on a pan don’t let them cook
- Cut the dried sheets into four
- In a small bowl pour water and flour to make a paste
- Take one of the cut pieces
- Fold to make pockets
- Using a spoon put the fillings into the pockets and seal them using the paste made above
- Heat cooking oil in a frying pan and deep them in
- Flip them over when they turn brown on the lower side
- Using a frying spoon remove them
- Beef samosas are ready
