Managu Recipe

Description
Managu is a traditional leafy vegetable commonly enjoyed by people who reside in the local parts of Kenya. To make it, you simply fry it with tomatoes, onions, and other natural ingredients. In Kenya, people often eat Managu with ugali and add avocado for a tasty lunch or dinner. Managu is rich in antioxidants and highly recommended for pregnant mothers due to its nutritious content.
Ingredients
- Managu
- Water
- Onion
- Tomatoes
- Salt
- Cooking Oil
Preparation Procedure
- Remove hard fiber and weeds from the managu
- Wash them thoroughly with a lot of water to remove dirt like soil
- In medium heat boil them in a cooking pot
- Cover the pot and boil for 20 minutes
- Drain the remaining water
- Chop onions and tomatoes separately
- In a frying pan pour some cooking oil
- Add the chopped onions and stir until they are golden brown
- Add tomatoes and salt to taste then stir
- Let the tomatoes cook until they are well mashed
- Add drained managu and mix well (add milk it is optional)
- Cover and allow it to cook for 5 minutes
- Managu is ready to be served with ugali and Avocado
