Meat Stew Recipe
Description
Meat Stew is one of the most favorite dish in Kenyan in homes, hotels and events. Kenyan meat stew is made by boiling meat until it's tender, then frying it with onions, tomatoes, and other optional ingredients. In Kenya, people mostly use cow or goat meat for this stew. It's typically served with Sukuma Wiki and Ugali or rice.
Ingredients
- 500g Meat
- 2 ripe tomatoes
- Chopped Coriander
- Green pepper
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Garlic
- Ginger
- 1 medium size Onion
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
Preparation Procedure
- Boil the meat in a cooking pot until it is tender
- Prepare your ingredients by chopping them and set them aside
- Heat a frying pan with medium heat
- Add cooking oil and chopped onions
- Let them cook till the onions are golden brown
- Add garlic and ginger and stir (if you need more spices you can add them)
- Add the boiled meat and mix
- Add chopped Tomatoes and green pepper
- Add salt to taste
- Mix them with a wooden spoon
- In low heat let them cook till the tomatoes are well mashed
- Add meat broth or a little water
- Allow it to cook for 5 minute
- The meat stew is ready to be served with ugali and some kales (sukuma wiki)
