Sweet Potatoes Recipe

Description

Boiled sweet potatoes are a favorite breakfast dish in rural parts of Kenya and to people who prefer natural and homemade foods. They are often taken with tea in the morning. There are various types of sweet potatoes, but the ones commonly used for breakfast are yellow and white in color when sliced.

Ingredients

  • 5 medium size Sweet potatoes
  • 2 cups Water

Preparation Procedure

  1. Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly to remove all the dirt.
  2. Put the sweet potatoes in a cooking pot
  3. Add 2 cups of water and cover with a lid
  4. In medium heat let them boil for 30 to 40 minutes
  5. Use a fork to check whether they are tender if not add 10 more minutes
  6. When tender drain them well.
  7. Let them cool properly
  8. Peel and cut them into pieces
  9. Serve them with milk or tea
